Libby, 82
POLAND -- Ruth E. Coron Libby, 82, of Poland, (formerly of West Cumberland), passed away on Sunday morning, May 8, 2011, at home with family at her bedside.
She was born in Portland on Feb. 23, 1929, the daughter of Alvah A. Coron Sr. and Katherine Mcf'ullum Coron.
Mrs. Libby was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert M. Libby; as well as siblings Alvah A. Coron Jr., Athlene Alexander, Leonard (Caron) Coron and Lorraine MacDonald. Ruth is survived by a brother, Edgar Coron of Clearwater, Fla.; daughters, Carolyn J. Britting Pratt and husband Dale of Poland, Kathleen A. Libby Peterson of Old Orchard; grandchildren, Michael Britting and wife Susan of Gorham, Stephanie Peterson Miller and husband Brett of Boothbay Harbor, Annette M. Britting of Buxton; and great-grandsons, Aidan Miller, 8, and Camden Miller, 7, of Boothbay Harbor.
Ruth retired after 23 years from the Environmental Dept. of Brighton Medical Center (Osteopathic Hospital) in Portland.
She enjoyed her two dogs, Buddy (deceased) and Amy.
She love fishing with Bob at the ocean. You also could find Ruthie on her paddle boat on most summer evening and weekends at Forest Lake.
Ruth loved her family, and her favorite holiday was Christmas and spending it with her children and grandchildren.
Ruth was saddened by the closing of the Village Cafe in Portland, as she and her friends celebrated many birthday parties. She loved the spaghetti and meatball meal with a glass of wine.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Rd., Gray, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
