Henry M. Britt

MANSFIELD: Henry M. Britt, 80, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

Henry was born October 13, 1932 in Bledsoe Co., Tennessee and was the son of the late Eskill and Nellie (Reece) Britt. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. Henry worked as a truck driver and welder for over 20 years at A & H Welding in Mansfield. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mansfield. Henry loved fishing, gardening, and working with his hands; and worked two jobs his entire life.

Henry is survived by his companion of twenty-seven years, Marjorie Traxler; two brothers, Clyde (Barbara) Britt of Crossville, Tennessee and Leonard Britt of Pikeville, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; and cousin, Jimmy Britt of Detroit, Michigan.

Along with his parents, Henry was preceded in death by five siblings, Martha Ellen Greer, Ann Imhoff, R.J. Britt, and twins, Louie and Dewey.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lantz Cemetery with full military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
