SALLY ZUNINO Obituary

Sally Louise Zunino Beloved Sally entered peaceful rest at the age of 76 after a five-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She was born in 1934 to Richard and Irma and was raised in Oakland, California. She was a resident of Fairfax for almost 50 years. Sally was a woman of high accomplishment. She was a Grand Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and was a graduate of UC Berkeley's renown Department of Criminology, following which she worked as a juvenile probation officer for the County of Alameda. She later enjoyed long and successful careers with State Farm Insurance Company, Marin General Hospital and Lincoln Financial Advisors. Sally returned to school in her late 50s to seek an MBA degree, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Francisco's McLaren School of Business. Sally's proudest accomplishment, however, was her children. She selflessly raised them through difficult times and was instrumental to their achieving their own successful careers. Sally will be sorely missed by Mark (Joni) of San Rafael and Laura (fiancé Leo) of Daly City, who will be forever grateful for her love and support. As her friends will attest, Sally was passionately interested in politics and was never shy about debating the political events of the day. She was the first female president of the Marin Republican Council and was fiercely proud of that historic achievement. Sally was also an avid reader and was greatly interested in the historic Old West towns in California and Nevada. Everyone knew her favorite color was red, and she never met a cat she didn't love. Sally cherished, and was cherished by, her many friends who were privileged to know her. A memorial service will be held Sat., Oct 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Keaton's Mortuary in San Rafael. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice by the Bay.

My love to Sally's family. I was Worthy Associate Advisor with Sally and we had a wonderful year traveling together with Mr and Mrs McDonald. Sally was a fun loving, caring, and thoughtful person and our year together was a special time in my life. I'm thankful for the time we had and the memories we created.
