Loma Mills Obituary
MARION: Loma J. Mills, age 93, of Marion passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 9:58 a.m. in her home.
She was born in Marion, Ohio on September 24, 1919 the daughter of Frank F. and Alice (Firstenberger) Oesterle. Loma married John H. Mills on March 28, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1983.
She was a member of the Green Camp United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Womens Organization. Loma was active at the YMCA where she enjoyed swimming. She was also involved with various charitable organizations where she donated much of her time and money. From 1956 until her retirement in 1983, Loma was employed with the Elgin High School as a history teacher. She later became a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
The life long Marion resident is survived by three sons; Judd Mills of Takoma Park, Md., Dr. Craig (Charo) Mills of Powell, Oh., and Kim S. (Carol) Mills of Arizona; seven grandchildren; Laurel (Matt) Burke, Jennifer (Scott) Seiler, Dr. Belinda Mills, Dr. Chris Mills, Josh Mills, Stacey Mills, and Melissa Mills; six great-grandchildren; one sister; Ruth (Dr. Fred) Staub of Columbus, Oh.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister; Doris Beaver.
Pastor Josh Freshour will conduct the funeral service in the Green Camp United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. The Mills Family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. The burial will take place at another time.
