He gave me my first haircut and cut my hair until I was 12 and moved away. I loved the smell of his pipe. He will always be missed.

Marilyn and family,
I am the guy who saw the painting of Barty in the art museum. He went from being a barber to being a friend. Never before have I looked forward to having my hair cut. I hope you will find peace knowing that he is beyond those final days of pain.

I have not lived in Emmaus since I was a young kid. I used to love going with my father to see Barty and get my hair cut. I know my grandfather got his hair cut there as well. He was an icon in the area. I am truly sorry for your loss, but know it was a loss to all.

Dear Marilyn and family, You're in our thoughts and prayers. We think of Bart every day when we pass his barber shop. Emmaus won't seem the same without him. We'd always beep the horn when we'd see him walking in town and that smile he'd flash will remain with us always. Marilyn, our children, Andrew and Alicia, always enjoyed being in your Sunday School classes. You are very special to our family. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Bruce, Brenda, Andrew and Alicia Stiles

Marilyn: I always enjoyed the times I shared with you and Barty. I will continue to treasure those memories and Barty for the rest of my life. The parties, the humor, sitting in your kitchen, and the barbershop banter are small yet significant examples of my connections to the world of Barty and Marilyn. Remember, the many friends that you have and who will not soon forget the very real person that he was.

Barty was an icon in Emmaus and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Barry went to him for haircuts from the time that the shop opened. He remebers sitting on a board to have his hair cut as well as trading Navy stories with him. No one else could give a haircut like Barty! Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Having Barty cut your hair was an experience, not it was truly entertainment! Several Saturdays in the winter I would get my haircut in the morning and be gone for for a couple of hours. My wife would ask why it took so long, my response was "I can't just my haircut at Barty's I have to hang out to listen to the banter between Barty and his customers." Barty is missed.

Please accept my codolences.
