Joseph S. Gaal
Joseph S. Hawkeye Gaal, age 83, of Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Agnes K. (Kokosky) Gaal. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Petho) Gaal. Joseph retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he worked as a machinist. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: Sons, Joseph R. and his wife, Stephanie, (Lizik) Gaal of Allentown, Dr. Francis S. and his wife, Linda (Lane) Gaal, of Bethlehem; granddaughter, Jessica, wife of Steven Fey, of Allentown. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Saturday in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 551 Thomas St., Bethlehem. Viewing 6-8 p.m. Friday night with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in Downing Funeral Home Inc., 1002 W. Broad St., Bethlehem. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the VNA Hospice at St. Lukes, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
