James Fahr Obituary

James R. Fahr Sr.
James R. Fahr Sr., 73, of Bangor, formerly of Allentown, died Friday, July 16, 2004 in his home. Born June 19, 1931 in Easton, he was a son of the late Thomas Newberry and Catherine (OConnor) Fahr. He and his wife, the former Vivian Kilpatrick, observed their 54th wedding anniversary last August 27th. He was employed as a correctional officer in Lehigh County for 10 years until retiring in 1992. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Johnsonville. He was a member of Green Leaf Masonic Lodge, Allentown, and a member of E.H. Evans American Legion Post, Bangor. Survivors: His wife; daughter, Joanne Haney of Joppa, Md.; sons, James Fahr Jr. of Bangor, William L. Fahr of Allentown, John P. Fahr of DeRidder, La.; sister, Katherine Phillips of Easton; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Thomas, Robert and Donald Fahr, all died earlier. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Reed/Gaffney Funeral Home Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, Village of Johnsonville, Bangor. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial, North Bangor Cemetery, Upper Mount Bethel Twp. Contributions: May be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 69, Bangor 18013.
