MINNIE SMITH Obituary

Minnie Bell Smith
September 25, 1914 – October 20, 2010
Minnie Bell Smith was born in 1914, the eldest child of Harry and Nora Schmideskamp, on their farm in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her husband Claude Smith, sisters, Mary Crumley and Martha Young and herBrother Rex Schmideskamp. Minnie married Claude Dillon Smith in 1931 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
She is survived by her children Claudia Nolander, Richard L. Smith, Willard G. Smith, Vonda Brown, Lindel Smith and Carol Newnam, 12 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and 2 great- great -grandchildren. Minnie worked as a secretary in the Sylvan unified school district in Modesto, California for 25 years Until her retirement in 1976.
Visitation will be held from at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 followed by Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced, California. Private burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California.
