Robert Seely Obituary

Resident of Scotts Valley
Det. Lt. Bob Seely passed away on Dec. 5, 2012 of pulmonary fibrosis. He died peacefully surrounded by family while in the arms of a firefighter.
Bob served in the US Navy for 4 years, the US Marshal's office for 8 years, and Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety from 1963-87.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jimmae, and their four children: Steve, Scott (Emma), Mike, and Sue (Ken). He has one cherished granddaughter, Amber Herfurth, and his loving sister, Sandra Weissel (Don Fosse).
We are blessed to have been loved by such an incredible man. He is sorely, and sweetly, missed and deeply loved. It is with heavy heart that we say goodbye to our husband, dad, brother, papa, friend.
A celebration of life will be held in January 2013. We welcome donations to Hospice of Santa Cruz in Bob's name.

I got an email this a.m. from Legacy...reminding me that it has been 8 years since my brother left this world. Tears instantly came to my eyes...and heart. I miss you big brother...more than words can say. I think of you all the time...treasuring the memories...never forgetting your humor and your big presence in our lives. Never forgetting how you were always there for me. I'll see you again one day. Much love always Robert Eugene!

I can hardly believe it has been one year tomorrow....I lost my big brother. I think of you everyday Bob...we all do. I know you are watching over us all..I feel you around. I was just told today of Bob' s passing. I wanted to pass my sympathies on to all of you. Bob worked with my dad,Arnold Lubke. They worked together for years and were great friends. I have great memories of Bob teasing me as I grew up in the Sunnyvale PS family. He will be remembered fondly and missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jimmae, and your family. Bob was a wonderful man and I absolutely will never forget his grin and sense of humor. Jim thought the world of Bob and so enjoyed working with him for so many years. I treasure the times we have spent together. Sure the two of them have much to talk about on the other side.
