Victor Osterman Obituary

Victor Charles Osterman

Resident of San Jose

September 25, 1918-November 4, 2010

Loving father, husband, grandpa, friend passed away peacefully in his sleep of heart failure.

A WWII paratrooper with the 82nd airborne in Normandy, he met his wife in Germany in 1945. They moved to California in 1950. He was a court reporter for Santa Clara County for 25 years and later a free-lance deposition reporter. He was an avid tennis player and skier, skiing until his 2nd heart attack at 87. He loved music, studied Spanish, and loved to cheer on the Giants and 49ers.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gitta, his daughters Karen Smith and Candy Basso (Michael), grandsons Christopher and Mark Basso, and granddaughter, Marguerite Basso.

A memorial service will be held on November 19th at 11:30 at Lima Family Mortuary at 466 N. Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara. Reception immediately following.
