Michelle Oei Matsumoto
Resident of Cupertino
May 26, 1962-Oct. 11, 2010
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Michelle passed away last week after a brave battle against cancer. She graduated from Whittier College with a degree in Math and Computer Science, moved up north for work, and lived in Cupertino for over 19 years.
Michelle is survived by her husband Keith Matsumoto, her parents Tien and Horry Oei, her mother-in-law Carole Matsumoto, her sister Lauren (Dennis) Shak, brother Rodney Oei and her nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her sister Deborah Prince. Michelle will be remembered for her warm and beautiful smile, and the love for her family, friends, and animals.
Memorial Services will be eld Fri. Oct. 22, 11:00 am at the Alameda family funeral home in Saratoga, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga CA 95070, Phone# 408-257-6262. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven in Los Altos Phone # 408-738-2121.

I met Michelle briefly while at Whittier College. And I just received the copy of “The Rock”, the Whittier College Magazine for the Fall of 2011. I am sadden and surprised that Michelle Oei Matsumoto has passed away at such an early age. Michelle always had a smile on her face and was always pleasant to talk to. My condoledcences to her husband and family.
