My deepest sympathy to the Kimble family. I was a police Science student at the College of San Mateo in 1966. I had taken a night class from Joe, and found him to be an excellent teacher, mentor, and a very likable human being. I eventually graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a BA degree in Criminal Justice, and retired from the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration with 25 years of service. On occasions, I still visit the city of San Carlos, and when I pass by the Police Department I often think of Joe Kimble. He was truly, a leader in the field of law enforcement, and was a pioneer in bringing professionalism to all aspects of law enforcement.

Thank you Joe for imparting your wisdom and knowledge to all of us.

Dear Joe
You were an example to me when I was new in police work in 1965. Your combination of intelligence, organization, friendliness and street savvy showed me the possibilities of police work. Thank you.

You are missed already Joe. E-mail is not the fun it used to be. If there was a way, I would still send them to you.

Rest in Peace Joe,
Love, Carole
