Vincent Ambrose Haughey

Resident of San Jose

April 1, 1925-Sept. 8, 2010

Passed away at the age of 85 in San Jose, CA. Survived by six sons, three daughters, one daughter-in-law, and two sons-in-law: Jim (previously married to Christine [Musser]), Vince, Pat, Kathy (married to Chris Wassell), Joe (married to Judy [Kyle]), Dennis, Teresa, Tim, and Donna (married to Gary Tellgren); grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of one. Born Vincent Ambrose Haughey in Chicago in 1925, he served in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1943-1945, receiving a Purple Heart for his service in WWII. He graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1949. He married Geraldine Margaret Mar in1951 (divorced 1970; deceased 2001); subsequent marriages to Genevieve Moore (deceased 1988) and Virginia Friedman (deceased 2006).

He spent almost his entire career working for Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. as a civil engineer. He was the constant athlete from high school well into his 80's playing such sports as boxing, baseball, basketball, golf, and tennis. He was a big fan of Frank Sinatra and an avid S.F. 49ers, Giants, and Oakland Warriors fan for several decades. We'll miss you Dad!

No public memorial service at this time. A private family gathering to be planned at the appropriate time.
