April 29, 1975, 39 years ago, on a deserted TSN airport that was bombarded mercilessly the night before. Time was running out. Saigon was falling. Despair filled the air. My family of 11 members, anh Luc and 2 brothers were some of the last souls on this huge empty lonely place. No aircraft for miles... except for a broken aircraft left behind with no battery. And then ... yes, miracle did happen. A battery was found and the aircraft still worked. Mr Luc Nguyen flew all of us and 20+ soldiers out of Saigon toward freedom... Yes Mr. Luc Nguyen was my hero. He was my brother not by blood but by heart. I will miss you anh Luc. Rest in peace.

Luc Nguyen will always have a special place in my heart. He was a man who clearly walked his talk...he excuded peace and compassion and was an advocate for interfaith harmony. I miss him already!
