Hi Dad. It's Thanksgiving and I just want to say How thankful I am that You and Mom taught me about the Lord. I don't know what we would do without Him. Knowing He is by my side helps me through my struggles. I didn't get to tell you this because you left in 2010. But my spiritual struggle you knew about I carried for 20 years and in 2011 I had emergency surgery and almost died. God let me see Jesus walk up to His throne and He said, "Father, I know you've called Martha home and Father, she's ready to come home but there are some things on earth she is concerned about. Will you grant her more time.? Our Father answered, "Son, you're a very wise man. Yes, I will grant her more time."
Dad that was 10 years ago and oh! the relief it has been for that burden to be gone. After seeing what I did, the burden was just gone. I can't explain it. I just know it's been glorious just knowing it is gone. Give mom a hug and kiss for me, I know you'll love that. Tell Johnny his daddy and I will be there with him someday. I love you.

Hi daddy,
Today is really a hard day because I lost you six years ago and today is the day I'm going through Donnie's stuff getting it ready for another move. We know Geary will never be able to wear any of Donnie's clothes so we're mostly going through those. We have decided to give all of it to a homeless shelter in hopes of someone being able to use and find warmth and comfort.
I miss you, Mom and Donnie so very much. I love you all dearly.

Hi Daddy. Your "Donkey" song has been in my head for the past several days. I was talking to Don about it the other day and he commented on how well you sang it even in your last days. I see hear you singing and you and Mom putting your thumbs in your ears and waving them back and forth when you would get to the "he-ha" part! It is funny how something can just pop in your head and bring a happy remembrance and a smile.

Happy Birthday Daddy. I love and miss you so much. I dreamed about You and Mother a couple of nights ago. We were having such a good visit that is was too late for me to leave so I was going to have to leave early the next morning. I promised to return (Fallon) as soon as I could. I heard a tape of Grandma SINGING with Grandpa, Love Lifted Me. It was cute to hear them talk, but more amazing to hear Grandma sing. I don't remember ever hearing her sing before.
I'm glad for the memories I have of Grandpa, and Grandma, and how they loved all of us the same.
I have good memories of Grandpa helping to hide our eggs on Easter way back when I was a small kid, man I never thought of them not being around one day. But, they are in Heaven, and happier than any of us. Thank God.

Hi Dad, I just got home from a visit with Marian. It was sure good to spend some time with her. She spent a few days with me and then I took her home and spent a few days with her. I got over the mountain just before a huge deadly pile up that closed I80 both directions. I thought of the times you and Mom traveled the road. God was sure good to watch over and protect. I look forward to spending more time with Marian. We met Esther, Don, and Tammy in Roseville. She told me of a hot dog place that sells hot dogs like Marks. Yum, they were so good. I enjoyed every bite. I just had to stop on the way home for another one. This time I brought Leon and Courtney one. I guess we will have a new stopping point on our way to Fallon. lol. Love you. Just about every picture I look at, Grandpa has his big smile!! It is wonderful to have had a happy Grandpa. We are in for a week and more for rain here. Grandpa would have his coffee cup full for sure.

Tammy sent emails out about seeing Grandpa on YouTube. I watched it, and oh the happy tears. I miss Grandpa and Grandma, though they are in a much better place than I am. I still find it hard to believe I'll never see either of them in the flesh. Grandpa always had his way of making us laugh, out of just good wholesomeness. Grandma, well, time with her was that of serenity, a calm, like time stood still. Their memories are forever in my heart.

I couldn't find your legacy page & googled your name & up pops this awesome YouTube video of your life with your kids, grandkids, preaching, and of course, giving grandma smooches! Grandpa, there are so many fond memories, I couldn't even being to recount. I had to laugh when I saw Ronda's post about finding cool things at the dump & touching the tongue to the nose. Actually, we found the COOLEST things @ the dump (it that was the greatest place to explore) & I can still touch my tongue to my nose. I loved picking almonds, walnuts & berries with Grandma & Grandpa. One of my favorite things was to go to the dairy & dip my cup in the giant vat of fresh milk. I still love drinking cold milk out of a metal cup & it always reminds me of Grandpa with his metal can in hand. I loved that the fridge was always full of food & you could eat whatever you want, except Grandma's "special diet food" (plain yogurt & cottage cheese... yuck!). As kids, Donnie & I enjoyed Grandpa's tractor rides & we always had the best adventures playing on all the "toys" in Fallon. Before they had driving restrictions, they loved to make the trip from Fallon to visit everyone & I remember them stopping by our houses in San Jose & Newcastle often. Seems like every time they came, we were having tacos or fondue. Oh, how Grandpa did not like tacos or fondue! Bread just does not go with either of those meals! hee-hee
We were taught that life wasn't about how much money you had, but making the most of every situation. I don't recall Grandma or Grandpa ever raising a voice at me (well, I was the favorite!) and they were always full of stories about their childhood. They taught us all the value of working hard & earning an honest living. And, their love for one another was so beautiful. They had an amazing affection for one another &, although they are dearly missed, I have to be happy for their souls that they are together now.
Grandpa, thank you for being the wonderful grandfather you were & for loving each of us in such an amazing way. You were a very special gift in each of our lives. Please watch over us & guide us. Give Grandma & Donnie hugs & kisses from me. I look forward to the day when we are all together again.

Hi Daddy; I miss you and mother more then words can ever express.Really miss being able to call you to tell you what we need your prayers for. But your prayers went on before you. Now, as Martha said all 8 of your children/families are under attack. Now,as never before, we all siblings and families,need to stand united. I'm so thankful for my brothers and sisters. Ilove them all so much.
Thank you Daddy and Mother for teaching us about the Lord and how important He is in our daily lives.Thank you for teaching us how to pray and to know that He is with us at all times.

Good morning Dad,
I know you have already kissed mom (and twice at that) but you can kiss her again for me, and I know she will get two as usual.
I was trying to figure out a way to put music in the background like they have for the newer ones. Roberta played a song at your memorial "When My Daddy Prayed", that I would love have playing when we read your guest book.
We, all 8 of your children, are in such need of God honoring both yours and moms prayers. Satan has really taken advantage of this vulnerable state we are all in and is trying to attack us everyone in one way or another in this valley. "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
We are holding to his promise "I will never leave the nor for sake thee".
We are all thankful for all of the prayers you and mom have said for us all. We are most appreciative that you taught us how to pray.
We love and miss you both terribly but know you are well and happy there.

I am so glad that, in Grandpa making his final trip, it was to Heaven. I'm thankful for the memories I have, his plaid flannel shirt, and coffee cup in hand, studying the Bible. I'm glad he kept the faith, and shared with all of his family how to live a holy and rewarding life. Our loss is Heaven's gain, and Grandpa's gain ultimately. Now, Grandpa is one that I can see singing with the angels. I'm glad for the last memory I have of him, singing When the Roll is Called up Yonder, and I got to hear him ask Eric if he could go preach for him, with a BIG smile. He spoke from the heart.
