This is a decade late, but I just found this obituary and I wanted to comment. I studied classical guitar with George in Washington, D.C. from 1970-1971. He was the first real classical guitar teacher I ever studied with. Otherwise, I was mostly self-taught. I was an experience trombonist so I was able to play reasonably well. However, George's instruction took me to a much higher level. In addition, he was a fascinating person to interact with. I loved my lessons with George. I've been compiling some information about my life and I started wondering about George. After a brief Internet search I found his obituary. I was sad that I never got the chance to tell George what a terrific teacher he was and how much I enjoyed and appreciated his lessons.

Hi, Tina
I was so sorry to see that George had passed away. He was a good friend to me and I really enjoyed talking to him.
