May God pour His blessings on your family, Arlam. I pray that they will seek the strength, wisdom and patience to be a living witness of the goodness of our Father that I saw in your life. Although I have not seen you in over 40 years I can never forget the Light I saw in your life. A light that 7 years later led me to a saving knowledge of Christ. I thank Him for our paths crossing. I never have and never will forget you.

Debra and family,
Arlam Carr was the gentle, small, but yet giant of a man that graced the halls of WSFA-TV during my time as an employee and student at Alabama State. When working under his directorship, one had to be very attentive, for Arlam had a quiet voice, yet, very much in control of the newscasts and productions he directed. It gave me great pleasure when he'd call on me to zoom on an "art card photogragh" for the production of a car commercial (yes, that's the way it was done). I'll always remember his jokes and broad grin, too! May God bless, strengthen and keep each of you in his bosom of love.

Mr. Carr was a trailblazer in the public education area. I remember his contributions when the suit was filed to desegregate Montgomery Public Schools. Thanks to this, many of us were able to get a good education. May you rest in peace.

Arlam was an "unsung Hero" in modern times. Arlam was a valued friend and colleague. He contributed so much to TV Broadcasting. He was a true "Trail Blazer and Peaceful Warrior." WSFA should establish a significant community service grant for undeserved students in his memory. May God bless his family during these trying days.

Arlam has been the perfect example of a true friend. I worked with him at WSFA in the 1970's and kept in touch though the years. My fondest memory is meeting him in the break room at WSFA to have lunch. He was famous for his BBQ rib sandwich, we had so many laughs and good times, I miss him and pray for the family.
