André GIBEAULT Obituary
André Gibeault passed away in Elgin on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at aged 79 years. Beloved husband of the late Michèle Jarry. He leaves to mourn his companion Jacqueline Clermont, his son Eric (Nathalie Thériaut), his grandchildren Victoria, Vanessa, Vincent and Vaughn, his stepchildren Charles, Stefanie, Catou and Pipo also many relatives and friends. From 1954 to 1963 he was a pioneer for car racing in Quebec. Corporate Lawyer by trade, he worked for more than 40 years for the brokerage firm Levesque Beaubien Goeffrion / Financière Banque Nationale. Furthermore, he was one of the founding members of the L.C.A.C.C. Since his retirement in 2003, he worked on his army vehicle collection, thus becoming the biggest and one of the most respected collector of that type of vehicle in Canada. Visitations will be held at Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Funeral Home 170 Châteauguay Street, Huntingdon on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Saint-Joseph Church, Huntingdon. To a friend with fond memories from many years ago. How great we were, as we helped build motorsport in Quebec and Canada through hard work,dedication to a cause and had fun doing it. After the work many of us and Andre included went on the enjoy the racing and the events afterwards, win or loose. Andre, win or loose was always a winner through the support he gave at races, race track negotiations or on the car club executive. Andre, thank for the time you gave us all while you were with us.
