Cecil Copley Obituary
He was born May 25, 1927 in Borderland, WV to Mose and Bessie Copley.
He served in the army from September 25, 1945 to April 28, 1947, as a Surgical Technician and Medic in Yokohama, Japan during the post war occupation.
Cecil married Emogene Watts on November 13, 1948 in Madison County, WV.
He worked as a general foreman at the Ford Motor Company Lorain for 17 years. After leaving Ford, he worked as a carpenter.
Cecil loved his church and was devoted to his faith, serving as lay minister for over 30 years.
He was known locally for his love of gardening and frequent garage and yard sales. He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved his sports teams.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 67 years (Emogene), Daughter Judy (Jan) Gaydos, of Huron, Son Jerry, of Elyria, and Daughter Cheryl (Bobby) Whisman, of Elyria. He is also survived by five Grandsons, Scott (Candice) Mamere, of Columbus; Jeff (Heidi) Mamere, of Troy, TX; Jerry Sapienza, of Wakeman; Brian (Rachel) Mamere, of Huron; Miguel Candelario, of London, UK; eight great-grandsons and three greatgranddaughters; and three sisters Judy Freeman, Sally Dillon, and Martha Porter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday January 28 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Church of Christ, 5075 Toledo Road, Lorain, Ohio. 44055
Funeral services will be conducted by Jim Hiser on Friday January 29 at 11 am also at the Church of Christ Church. In addition or in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Oasis Unit at Lifecare Center of Westlake, 26520 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio
Burial services, conducted by Bob Eddy, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
Arrangements are being handled by WyersBollinger Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank the Oasis unit at the Lifecare Center of Westlake and Crossroads Hospice for their loving and attentive care.

Our heartfelt sympathy to you at this time, but we all know Cecil was a good devot Christian man and has found his place where he is at rest from the confusions on earth. To all the Copley Family: We are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Copley was a wonderful man. I will miss him coming to buy his garden seeds, but maybe Mrs. Copley will still be gardening.
I pray that God will cover you with his mercy and give you strength to walk this difficult walk. As you know, he is walking down heaven's streets and probably asking where can I start my garden.

Aunt Emmy and family -
I look back on the years so long ago that we all gathered for deer season and Thanskgiving at grandma and grandad's house in WV. All of the laughter, noise and chaos of family members crammed into every inch of the house (even sleeping up in the "cat house" on the hill) are times I will never forget.
