Corine Mebane Obituary
AGE: 88 • South Plainfield
Corine Mebane, 88, passed away on Feb. 1, 2013 at home. Born in Surry Virginia, Corine resided in Bridgeport Connecticut before moving to South Plainfield.
She was a graduate of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport. In her younger years, Corines enjoyed traveling with her husband, James. Throughout the years, her desire was to be home with her husband or accompanying him in their charity work. She has been a faithful member of the Scotch Plains Baptist Church for the last 12 years. After over 30 years of devoted service, Corine retired from Ronson Corporation. She also volunteered at Muhlenberg Regional Hospital until its closing.
Predeceased by nine siblings, Corine is survived by are her husband of almost 70 years; James, two sons; James and his wife Cathy of Hamden, CT and Pierre and his wife Carole of Walnut Creek, CA and three grandchildren; Melba, Elliot and Carrie. Family and friends may attend visitation on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 from 7-9PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 (www.mccriskinfuneralhome.com). Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at 10AM in the Scotch Plains Baptist Church, 333 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains NJ 07076. http://www.mccriskinfuneralhome.com). Entombment will be under the direction of Mortons Mortuary, 25 Margaret R. Morton Lane, Bridgeport CT 06607.
