JOSEPH W. GETTA
AGE: 55 LAKEWOOD
Joseph W. Getta, 55, of Lakewood died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Neptune, he lived in Englishtown and Highland Park prior to moving to Lakewood 17 years ago. Mr. Getta was a mover for Apollo Moving and Storage, Somerset for the past 27 years. He was an avid fisherman and animal lover.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Germinara Getta; his parents, Joseph T. and Madeline Hagerman Getta, Toms River; a stepson, Joseph Germinara, Providence, Rhode Island; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Germinara, Garrison, New York; two brothers, John Getta, Toms River, and William Getta, Seattle, Washington; three sisters, Lynn Getta, Clearwater, Florida, Shirley Strong, Warsaw, Missouri, and Lois DiFedele, Lakewood.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations in his memory to the Monmouth County S.P.C.A., 260 Wall Street, P.O. Box 93, Eatontown, NJ 07724 would be appreciated.

My family knew Joey when he was younger. He was a sweet & kind person. He lived with my x-husband & I in Jackson. He had also bought my son, Christian, a beautiful red wagon for his 1st birthday. I didn't get to see him when I was back in Freehold, but I did get to speak to him on the phone.
