Andrew McGowan Obituary

Andrew J. McGowan

AGE: 70 • Bayville

Andrew J. McGowan, of Bayville, NJ passed away on October 19, 2013. Andrew was born December 1st, 1942 to William & Catherine (Rahl) McGowan and was the baby brother to William McGowan, Delores Anderson, Jeanne Collignon and Janice Morris, all whom have preceded him in death.

Andy was born in Long Branch and was always proud to share his fondest memories of Highlands, NJ where he grew up and went to school.

Andy had a passion for cars, boats and anything fast and no one had more cars and trucks than him! Retiring from Local 8/5 of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers in 2003, he had worked as a respected mason bricklayer for over 35 years.

Andy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Pietrina (Donzella) McGowan; his beloved sons, Andrew McGowan and his wife Rhonda from Browns Mills, NJ and Patrick McGowan of Tinton Falls NJ. Andy will also be greatly missed and always loved by his father and mother-in-law Sal & Marie Donzella, Garfield NJ; brother and sister-in-law, Bart and Sue Donzella Fair Lawn, sisters-in-law, Jeanne McGowan, Hollywood, FL, Annette Donzella, Ramsey and Maria Donzella, Lakewood, NJ. Many nieces and nephews and special Godchildren that he adored as they adored him. Many treasured friends whom made all of his last wishes possible.

Very special thanks to Dr Susan Greenberg and Dr. Angelo Chinnici who always made Andy comfortable and were more like family to him and not physicians. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Andy's memory to Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundations, 1345 Campus Parkway, Suite A2, Neptune, NJ 07753. Attn: Oncology Brennan 6 that treated him like he was royalty.

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, October 26, 2013, 10am to 2pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O'Connell Chapel, 706 Hwy 9, Bayville, NJ 08721. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com.
