Joseph Macay

AGE: 84 • East Brunswick

Joseph Macay of East Brunswick, NJ passed away December 5, 2013 at Cranbury Center. He was 84 years old. Born in Palmerton, PA, he grew up in then Czechoslovakia before returning to the United States on his 18th birthday. He lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to East Brunswick, NJ with his family. A veteran of the US Army, he proudly served our country between 1953 and 1955 and was honorably discharged. Joseph worked as a cement and concrete worker in New York City on many of its high rise buildings. He spent his retirement enjoying gardening, cooking for his grandchildren, and watching soccer.

Predeceased by his wife Ann I. Macay, several brothers in Slovakia, and a sister in Hungary, he is survived by his son Joseph P. Macay of East Brunswick, granddaughters Carissa and Jessica Macay of Dayton, and several brothers, nieces, and nephews in Slovakia.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10am at the funeral home. Interment at Dayton Cemetery, Dayton. www.bronsonandguthleinfh.com
