Wilson Ramsey Obituary
He was born Nov. 11, 1946, in Pittsfield, a son of Wilson Ernest Sr. and Ica Ruth Helms Ramsey. He married Shirley Ann Dierking on June 17, 1967, at the Farmers Ridge Church of Christ. Shirley died Jan. 28, 1984.
Ernie graduated from high school in Fort Scott, Kan., and attended Lincoln Land College in Springfield, earning degrees in accounting and drafting. He was a longtime employee of Oscar Mayer in Beardstown, and more recently was employed by Stark Brothers Nursery in Louisiana, Mo.
Ernie had served as an EMT in Bluffs and Pleasant Hill and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Most importantly, he enjoyed visiting with friends and spending time with his granddaughter, Lindsey. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include his father, Wilson E. Ramsey Sr. of Pearl; a son, Michael (wife, Stacey) Ramsey of Pittsfield; a granddaughter, Lindsey Ramsey of Pittsfield; a brother, Rich (wife, Donna) Ramsey of rural Rockport; and several nieces and nephews, including Randi (husband, Dominic) Cattero of Quincy. Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his mother, Ruth Ramsey; and by an infant sister, Nancy Ann.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Earnest Johnson. Burial will follow at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Crescent Heights Cemetery Association or to the charity or organization of the donor's choice. Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill is handling the arrangements.

I was very sorry to hear about Ernie. He was my next door neighbor for many years in Bluffs. Ernie always had a smile on his face and was a good neighbor.
