July 23, 1961 - May 27, 2017
Murrells Inlet
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that the Lord called my mom, Teal Roberts Kukon, home in the early hours of the morning of Saturday, May 27th. She was surrounded by her family and passed peacefully in a room full of love. My grandparents, James Winston Roberts and Sandra Kay Harrison Roberts, welcomed her into the world on July 23, 1961 and it has been fuller and brighter ever since. My mom achieved many incredible things in her life — far too many to list here — and has impacted a tremendous number of people. To say she will be missed is an absolute understatement. That said, Mom always celebrated life, whether that was going out to breakfast; going on a trip; redoing a house; or simply having coffee and we are honored to continue her legacy in the years to come. She was a gift from God and we feel so blessed to have had her for the time that we did. Truly, it would have never felt long enough.
She is survived by me, her daughter, Kira Kukon and my boyfriend, Kyle Harbridge; her incredible brother, Glen Roberts; her beloved sister-in-law, Susan Roberts; her precious nephews and niece, Gregory, Andrew, and Anna Grace Roberts; her boyfriend, James Organetti; her fur baby, Bella; and many others. She would have also wanted me to give a shout out to her incredible friends and classmates -- the legendary Big Time '79.
Among many things, my mom leaves a legacy of love, faith, wit, kindness, strength, charm, warmth and grace.
We are honoring her wishes and forgoing a traditional funeral service. We will be holding a marsh-side memorial service at 4:00pm on Friday, June 9th, in celebration of her life instead. Pastor Jeff Dunn of Christ United Methodist Church will lead the service at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet.
Thank you all for the prayers and for the tremendous outpouring of love and support.

My sincere condolences to Teal's family. I just learned from a mutual friend and I'm so sad to hear this. Teal and I knew each other from 1988 until 1991. Wonderful, beautiful friend, I'm so sad to learn of your passing. I was sure that sparkly energy would last forever. As always, "You can leave your hat on."

Teal was beautiful from the end side out. I worked with her at the old regency Rest in the later 70's. She didn't care that I was a shy over weight underclassmen. She helped me break out of my shell. I will always remember her for her acts of kindness. I'm so sorry that was taken to soon
