Franklin Causey Obituary

LORIS | Mr. Franklin Earl ''F. E.'' Causey Sr., 84, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at his home following an illness.

Mr. Causey was born October 22, 1924 in Loris, South Carolina, to Mr. Walter Nathan Causey and Mrs. Lillian Ethel Tyler. Mr. Causey served his country with courage and honor in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. After serving in the military Mr. Causey moved back to Loris, where he worked as a carpenter and farmer, and was a longtime member of the Live Oak Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including Deacon. Mr. F. E. Causey was an avid fisherman and hunter, and a loving and devoted husband and father.

Survivors include his wife, Matha Causey of Loris; one son, Franklin Earl Causey Jr., and wife, Dorinda, of Loris; one daughter, JoAnn Vaught and husband, Jimmy, of Loris; three brothers, William P. Causey Sr. and Donald R. Causey Sr., both of Loris, and Roy R. Causey of Lexington, N.C.; two sisters, Rusty C. Bruton and Jauaniece C. Hagadorn, both of Loris; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Causey was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, John W. Causey, James G. Causey and Winston Carlyle Causey Sr.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at Live Oak Baptist Church with burial following in Princeville Cemetery. Dr. Larry Turner, Pastor Steve Noble and Chaplain Loran Bulla will officiate services. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m., in Hardwick Funeral Home.
