May God be with all of Johns family. I have not seen Johnny since the good ole High School days, spent alot of tome waiting for "FIG NEWTON" to get out of the locker room. He was always such a gentle giant back then , so kind ,thoughtful to his Mother and brothers. God needed you to soon. Payrers are with family.

It came as a shock to us all to hear the news about Johnny. Though it has been since the early seventies, when we were just a bunch of guys playing football for the Rebels, we all remember John with fondness.
Time can never diminish the friendships created and the great times that we all shared with a great Rebel Brother and a fantastic friend. He always gave 110 percent on the field as well as his life beyond the goal post.
Rest well ole #74. Save a spot on the field for the rest of us.
May God Bless the Newton family during their time of loss, and may His Goodness comfort you all. Amen.

John took a chance with me while others would not. I will miss his knowledge of the industry that I also grew up around. John's hard but caring disciplined opened my mind to everything around me. I will miss him as my older brother. John, I hope that you got those thick glasses like we talked about. Ha, Ha! We will miss you old coot.

John was a great mentor and friend he never stopped teaching me about the business we both loved or how to be a better person. He changed the lives of all those he knew, and touched the hearts of all that knew him. His smiling presence will be greatly missed. I'm gonna miss ya ole man.
