Allen has been a dear friend for more than 43 years. We shared life as associates and as friends and as tennis players. He was one of a kind and will be missed and admired and remembered.

Your loved one will always be as close as a memory and the God of all comfort is always as close as a prayer.

I am so sorry for your loss! Mr. Himes was an important figure in my life; his intellect, kindness and grace as a human being taught me much early in my career and life. I am thankful for having had the opportunity to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To Allen's dear wife, Kay. Thank you for bringing this great man into the lives of our family. Allen was a "perfect husband", so intelligent, wise, and a worthy example to all others who knew him. Could write many funny stories about Allen's great sense of humor and his multi-tasking. Will miss Allen's wisdom, - till we see him again in Heaven. Allen was forever energetic, an example of what a "real honest to goodness man" should be. I will never forget him. Am beside you with my prayer always.

We have known Allen for a long time. He was a leader in the Navy R & D community and mentored/coached many up and coming managers/engineers over the years. Discovering tennis mid-life Allen approached the game with the same intensity and enthusiasm as he did with other life pursuits. He was competitive but also caring and solicitous of his fellow players. A tribute to Allen is not complete without mention of his beloved wife Kay who cared for him during his illness with unparalleled devotion, tenacity and love. God Bless Allen and Kay.
