Curtis Everton "Buddy" Davidson, 79, of Star City, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday October 29, 2025, at his home. Born April 15, 1946 in Garnett, Arkansas, to the late Clyde E. and Augusta Mae Jenkins Davidson, Curtis was retired from the United States Army, Levi-Strauss, and at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. During the Vietnam Conflict, Sgt. Davidson served with the 3rd battalion, 187th infantry, 101st Airborne Division, receiving a Purple Heart. He also served 18 years in the Arkansas National Guard. While his given name was Curtis, most everyone knew him by his lifelong nickname of Buddy.
After retirement, Buddy stayed active helping his fellow veterans. He served as the Veterans Service Officer for Lincoln County, and was involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was also a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Lunsford Davidson, of Garnett; son Chad and wife Alicia Davidson of East End, Arkansas and daughter Leanne and husband Brandon Truax of Gillett, Arkansas; siblings Vada McElmurry Lynch of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bill Davidson of Glendale, Arkansas, Cynthia Woolf of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Alton Davidson of Russellville, Arkansas; grandchildren Caleb Davidson, Jacob Davidson, Wesley Davidson, Nicholas Maynard, and Peighton Maynard as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family.
Preceding him in death are his parents, sisters Hedda Larker, Patricia Weeks, and granddaughter Sidneigh Maynard.
Visitation will be on Tuesday November 4, 2025, at Buie-Cole Funeral Home in Rison, starting at 1:00 pm, with funeral services at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Rison with military honors.
