Funeral services for Mrs. Daphne Sutter Moore will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Dan Lanier officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in the Whynot Community. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Moore, 75, of Meridian, died Friday, October 31, 2025, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Daphne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and educator. She was a Kindergarten Teacher at Lamar School teaching many years, retiring with a career spanning over 35 plus years. She loved molding young minds and shaping future leaders. Daphne was an avid reader and enjoyed The Arts. She had a passion for music and formerly served as a choir director for her church. She was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She will be remembered for her loving and nurturing spirit above all.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her loving husband of over 53 years, Lamar Moore; their children, Heather Smith (Jason) and Houston Moore (Kasey); grandchildren, Mary Madison Fitzgerald (Connor), Edmond Booker, Seth Smith, Caroline Booker, Chloe Booker, Stella Moore, and Sofie Moore; great-grandchildren, Hudson Fitzgerald, Hayes Fitzgerald, and Hampton Fitzgerald; her sister, Judy Creel (Jimmy), as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Daphne is preceded in death by her parents, J.S. and Mary Sutter; her sister, Sandra Gay Hosmer; and her brother, Mike Sutter.
Pallbearers will be Mark Robinson, Seth Smith, Edmond Booker, Connor Fitzgerald, Win Joiner, and Stancil Reynolds.
