Amos Moore Obituary

Amos was born July 29, 1946, in Martin County, Kentucky, the son of the late Amos Moore, and Mabel Lou (Preece) Moore. On June 13, 1966, he was united in marriage to Gloria Jean (Horsley) Moore, who preceded him in death on August 8, 2020.
He is survived by two daughters, Kim (Robert Thompson) Moore, and Amy (Jeremy) Harris; eight grandchildren, Darrion Moore, Bobby Bostwick, Deagon Harris, Graydon Harris, Brooke-Lynn Burleson, Kailee Harris, Hunter Knisley, Courtney Knisley, Cole Thompson, and Mahala Knisley; three great grandchildren, Breylynn, Knox, and Dutton; three brothers, James Arthur Moore, Charles (Judy) Edward Moore, and Jack (Linda) Lawrence Moore; a sister, Judy (Larry) Murray; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five sisters, Peggy Ward, Mary Ward, Emma May Eastman, Betty Emmery, and Brenda Richmond; two brothers, Andrew Jackson Moore, and Thomas Ray Moore and a sister-in-law, Sue Moore.
Amos was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of the Tristate Zion Association of United Baptist.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2025, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Elders Garrett "Skip" Stewart, Cecil Adams and Claude Mollett officiating. Burial will follow at Hay Hollow Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio with graveside Military Rights performed by American Legion Post #142, Waverly, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the funeral home in Waverly.
