Douglas Arthur Jones, a father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on August 19, 1950, Doug was the cherished son of Arthur Jones and Marilyn Jones, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his children Jeremy, Jamei, Jodi, Jessica, and Jacob. Doug's memory will also be treasured by his brothers, Donald Jones and David (Vicki) Jones, and his sisters, Debra Powell and Diane (Mark) Sanchez.
A man of many interests, Doug found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for fishing, playing cards and spending time at the casino. Doug's creative spirit thrived when he was building things with his hands, leaving behind tangible reminders of his talent and dedication.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Hoffmann Hospice for their unwavering care and support during Doug's final days. Their dedication and kindness provided comfort during a challenging time, and they will always hold a special place in the family's hearts.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Doug's life will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 9 AM at Hillcrest Mortuary, located at 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA. Family and friends are invited to join in paying their final respects.
During this time of grief, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Doug and may his spirit live on in our hearts forever.
