Dula McCarty Obituary
92 of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on October 25, 2015. She was born in Gadsden, Alabama, 2nd of three children to J Walter and Sallie M (Dyar) Scarbrough. She grew up in Sand Mountain, Alabama, and attended high school in Boaz, Alabama. She married Paul Joseph McCarty on April 26, 1941 in Rising Fawn, Georgia, and was a merchant and executive at Sears for 40 plus years. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and she was a sports fan. Dula is survived by her son, Max Paul McCarty, and granddaughters Hannah McCarty and Miranda McCarty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Joseph McCarty and grandson William GS McCarty. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 11am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park. Inurnment will be held at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a later date.

Dula was my last Aunt and I loved her dearly. I will always treasure the time she visited me in Lawton, OK. I just read her obituary online. I wish Max would contact me. 918-483-0203. I would love to get to know him. Not many of us left. Love, Pat Keyes

I met Dula in the mid 70's. I was a young salesperson and called on her at Sears in Seattle. She taught me so much, we have been friends ever since. We have stayed in touch over the years, I am so sorry to hear about her passing. There was no one like her, she was always there to listen. My prayers and sympathies to Max, her granddaughters and family.

Dula was a lovely woman and a great friend of my grandma Vera's. She was there when my mother brought me home from the hospital and told me stories about my family I'd never heard before when I visited her in AZ. She had a strong faith in Jesus and I look forward to seeing her again one day.

Dula was a true friend to my husband Stan and myself and family. Met her at Roadhaven in 89 -she always said Roadhaven was
God's waiting room for Heaven and now she is there. We'll meet again - Dula give Stan a big hug for me - he's right there too - God bless your family.... Helen Holder
