Eli Maxwell Goodrum Jr, 78, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on October 30, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Eli was born on July 29, 1947, to Eli Sr and Evelyn (Sisk) Goodrum in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He married Joyce (Scott) Goodrum on December 2, 1966.
Eli graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1965. After graduation he worked many years for Porter DeWitt, he then operated Twin Oaks Ready-Mix, and later retired from MoDot. Eli lived a life full of purpose, generosity, faith and quiet strength. He was the heart of his family-always offering a helping hand or a word of quiet encouragement. Eli was lovingly devoted to his wife and family. His legacy of love, faith, and hard work will continue to inspire everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Eli is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; sons, Adam (Izza) Goodrum and Kirk (Amber) Goodrum; grandchildren, Keaton (Katie) Goodrum, Sawyer (September) Goodrum, Tate (Hannah) Goodrum, and Camille, Moriah, and Dawson; and great grandchildren; brother, Terry "Mike" (Francie) Goodrum; brother in law, Thomas Eugene Scott; sister in law, Marilyn Scott; along with many nieces and nephews.
Eli was preceded in death by his parents, Eli Sr and Evelyn; in laws, Thomas "Ed" and Lorene Scott; granddaughter, Ariel Goodrum; and siblings in law, Jim Scott, Frances Goodrum, and Barbara Scott.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from noon-1pm at First Church of God in Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral services will immediately follow beginning at 1pm with Pastor Scott Andrews, and Pastor Michael Carter officiating. Burial will take place at Black Creek Cemetery.
