Not sure what to say?

Dear Cecelia, My brother Eric shared the sad news of Ernie passing away. Although an ocean now separates us, as I am living in France, and many years have gone by since I enjoyed your visits to my folks' home on Belvenia Road Burlington, I hold fond memories of our times together. The two of you have always been inspiring athletes, engaged community members and good friends of the family. I wish you and your family peace and loving memories of a man who, like you, I looked up to in my growing...

No words can express the sadness that is felt in our hearts at the loss of our dear neighbour and friend.....you will be missed.....our thoughts are with cece and all of Ernie´s wonderful family.....much love......Steve and Barbara

Travelling in the Jeep to the Project Dare ski race! Trying to keep up doing intervals at Bronte. Then four decades of friendship as Ernie, Cecelia and I visited. My Dad Patrick has so often expressed admiration for Ernie's commitment to his young ski team and all the support he gave us. Ernie was my first ski coach, an inspiration and a dear friend. Dear Cecelia, you are a champion too. I wish you peace and calm. I have some treasures from both of you in my home; and I treasure the...

Our sincerest sympathies to all of Ernies family at this time. Your father and grandfather was quite a remarkable man. May he Rest in Peace. Sincerely, Joy Appleton

Cecelia, Really sorry to hear of Ernie's passing from Eric. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I will never forget my first day of training with Ernie and the Halton ski team 42 years ago - I couldn't walk for days after I was so sore. That however was the start of a life long love for cross country skiing and the special life long friendships I made with Ernie and other members of the racing team. It was a special time in my life that I will cherish always and has...

Dear Cecelia, We are sending our deepest sympathies to you and your family. I am so happy that we got to see you and Ernie a few years ago and to reminisce of the incredible XC ski adventures we had with you both. We thank you so much for those as you forever changed our lives as young kids from Burlington. I was one of many who you and Ernie spurred on to the highest level of, not only skiing, but in life in general. It is funny that today, in preparation for my 12 year-old daughter's ski...

Cecilia, our deepest sympathy for your loss. We'll remember our many outings together with both of you forever. Harry and Hannelore Godau
