This was great person. He was my company commander in basic training and only had respect and admiration for him as leader, devotion to his family and his service.

Sometime in 2010, I raised two points with Everett about Japanese One Yen. He answetred by return with his listing of his rarity scale of those coins. We are missing a knowledgeable guy. My sincere condolences go to his family.

Everett, a nice guy with a ready smile and willing to share his knowledge. My interest in chopmarks started in the late '60s and wrote a couple of articles for trade mags early '70's and not waned over the years. Everett took his interest to a higher level seldom reached but by a few. Many thanks for the times spent to reconnect at the Long Beach Expo shows.

I didn't know Everett in person. We only exchanged one email. He answered my question about my Japanese silver dollar and Gin mark on my 1883 yen. I will never forget this Everett. Me and all other CCC members will surely miss you...
This is his email to me:
"Conrad,
In answer to your question.
The 1883 (Meiji 16) with Gin Right is a rare coin in my rating, less then ten known by me.The 1883 Gin Left is scarce, not often found for sale.
The value is what a collector is willing to pay..
Thanks for the interest.
Everett"

Even though we never met in person, I knew Everett. We first corresponded in 1998. We talked on the phone and emailed back and forth. He was a good man and I will miss him.
You have my deepest condolences.

Rose wrote the book on Chopmarks but Everett kept the hobby active and growing for many years. He certainly made the hobby more enjoyable. He will be missed.

Everett, may your souls finally rest in a wonderful world of our second life in heaven... Chopmark collectors club will really missed you. We had a nice conversation last 2009 at the ANA world's fair of money and your numismatic experience is quite extraordinary! Thanks also for letting me join the club and for entertaining me at the phone several occasions.

I was not expecting to see this notice for Everett! He is one of the best numismatists I have ever known and he broke a lot of new ground for today's collectors. I hope that I will see him on the "other side" as we used to say in the VN War!
