Flay Roberts Obituary
Mike was born in Cramerton and was the son of the late Flay and Jenny Brandon Roberts.
Mike was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Westinghouse Corporation as a Nuclear Turbine Mechanic. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cramerton where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Cramerton Volunteer Fire Department.
Mike is survived by four daughters, Lynn Barrow and husband Steve of Aiken, South Carolina, Ann Sanger of Cramerton, Kim Roberts of Char-lotte, Robin Roberts of Ft. Mill; two brothers, George Roberts and wife Sara Faye of California, Kentucky, Joe Roberts and wife Joyce of Sylva, North Carolina; one sister, Faye Turner of Arizona; 6 grandchildren, Sydney Mercurio, Lucas Barrow, Kristen Lefler, Kurt Sanger, Haley Roberts, Heather Norris.; 4 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Cramerton with the funeral service to follow at 5 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with Dr. David B. Julen officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont with Military Honors by the United States Army.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Thelma Sutton Roberts; 2nd wife, Bobbie Reese Roberts; four brothers, Bill Roberts, Cyrus Roberts, Jack Roberts, Shad Roberts; two sisters, Evelyn McGonagle, Rachel Barfield.

I was very sorry to hear about Uncle Mike. He was a fine gentleman and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May God comfort his family and many friends during this extremely difficult time.

Mike and I set at the fire station talking and having a lot of fun, we talked a lot about the history of Cramerton and the good old days as we grew older. Today he is with loved ones that welcomed him to Heaven and I feel assure he is having a wonderful time greeting and meeting all before him. So family don't worry just enjoy the time we had him here for someday we shall talk again.

Ann, Robin, Lynn, Kim,praying for you that God will comfort you in the loss of your Dad, he was a precious man, always smiling when you saw him, he will be greatly missed, praying for all his grandchildren and great grandchildren, may God give them comfort and peace in this time, he was a man who loved his family, praying for all, sending our love.

Mike Paw Paw Roberts was a very good friend. I will deply miss him. I just want the family to no it was a honor to me that you ask me to be a pall beerer. I wish I could be there wright with you girls. Paw Paw will always be in my hart as he will yours. May God Bless all of you. Slim

Mike was my friend. I'm half his age, but it never felt that way. Our dialogues were easy, flowed freely, of Cramerton, the mills, the river... and fishing. I think Mike was a friend to all of us, someone we all could find peace in chatting with. Where 5minutes with Mike, felt like a deep, relaxing breath... one you know you'd been needing to take, but hadn't. I'll miss his wit, smile laughter. I'll miss him sitting on the bench on Center Street, cap on crooked looking for deer on Goat Island. Take care, Mikey. We'll miss you. - Houston.
