Frank Kurose Obituary
Resident of San Jose
Frank Kurose passed away on April 5, 2017 following a courageous battle with lymphoma. Frank was born on July 29, 1932 in Provo, Utah, to the late Hyosuke and Umeyo Kurose. Frank served in the US Army from 1952-1954 in the Korean War. He established Garden Clinic in Los Altos, CA and worked there for over 30 years. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Gayle Kurose. He was the loving father to Lori (Devin) Ishida, Sandi (Craig) Rosner and Scott (Janeth) Kurose and beloved Grandfather to Jared, Mathieu and Lucas. He was the second eldest of seven children. Frank was predeceased by his sisters Kasi Kurose and Grace Yonemura, brother George Kurose and brother-in-law Norman Oda. He is survived by his siblings, Rose Oda, Bette Kurose, Tom (Geri) Kurose, brother-in-law Asa Yonemura and sister-in law Nori Kurose. He was the loving uncle to Todd (Stacey), Craig (Pam), Julie (Derek), Tracy (Tom), Stefanie (Margaret), Bruce, Lesley (Sid), Deana (Mark), Darren (Yooly) and Shelley (Joe). He was also great-uncle to Halle, Cade, Emily, Jackson, Jenna, Charlie, Dru, Bryce, Carter and Ryder. Frank enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, sports, gardening, wood working, poker and reading. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 6:00pm at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, 640 N. 5th St., San Jose, CA 95112.

Dear Lori, Sandi and Scott,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your father! I always enjoyed interacting with your father in the times we met! I remembered his kindness when he came to our Petaluma home after his abalone dive in Sonoma County. He had a coffee and then he offered one of two abalones that he worked so hard to get! Your father had a quiet gentle side and had the feeling that he enjoyed his life and was proud of all three of you! I regret now having had more time to do things with your father!
