Frankie Lee Holt Mays of Nashville, TN was born December 20, 1948. He was the first of seven children born from the union of Jimmy Mays, Sr. and Lorene Holt Mays.
Frankie obeyed the gospel at an early age and was baptized at South Hill Church of Christ (now Hart Street).
Frankie was a 1967 graduate of Cameron High School.
Frankie had many close high school and neighborhood friends that would visit with him and talk about the times they had in school as well as the “old” neighborhood. He always enjoyed reminiscing about the past. He enjoyed attending the annual Cameron High Blue & Gold Balls.
Frankie was employed for several years with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Baird Ward Printing Company and later as an independent journeyman welder.
Frankie was affectionately known to Harold, Deron, Bobby and Steve Henderson as “Pops.” Frankie had much respect for them, and they had great admiration for him.
Frankie is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Lorene Mays; brothers, Terry, Reginald, Jimmy Jr. and a sister, Shearon Mays.
Frankie leaves to cherish his memory, sisters, Barbara (Richard) Coure and Shelia Motley.
Frankie also leaves to cherish his memory a very devoted and loving friend of 12 years, Jane Hannah Henderson; nieces, Shawnda and Erika Mays, Stephanie Vazquez, and Terika Hathaway; nephews, Jason and Darryl Mays; Richard D. (Kim) Coure and James (Savannah) Alexander, Jr. other relatives and friends; Special friends, Willie (Ting) Floyd, Herbert Holt, Miles and Jeana Hunter and the late Larry J.D. Boyd.
