Harriett Ruth Sarver Cook nee Hennon, age 95, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. Ruth was born on June 12, 1930 in Carson Township, Fayette County Illinois. She is survived by her 5 children Stephan Roy (Belinda) Sarver, Barry Lynn Sarver, Jeanne Diane Sarver, Robert William (Christine) Sarver Jr., and Linda Sue (Andrew) Painter; 13 grandchildren Michael, Amy, Christine Kay, Elizabeth Ann, Brian, Stephan, Ryan, William, Christopher, Alan, Christina, Ashley, Madison; 13 great grandchildren Drew, Rebecca, Cullen, Morgan, Caitlin, Colleen, Jasper, Shailynn, Colton, Aryana, Antonio, Amare, Zeppelin, 4 great great grandchildren Dawson, Waylon, Milo, Harmoni, sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harrison Hafford and Mildred Rochelle (Bumgardner) Hennon, her husband of 36 years Robert William Sarver Sr., her husband of 10 years Harold John Cook, her grandson Mark Stephan Sarver and her sisters Mary Rose Gilmore, Doris Jean Hendricks, Marjorie Ann Ferral.
During her lifetime Ruth managed 100 townhouses for the 5th Army at Fort Sheridan, operated an over the road Peterbilt tractor trailer, and for 25 years drove school buses for both Ritzenthaler and National Bus Services. She was a cub scout den mother, girl scout troop leader, and a member of Lake County Homemakers and Gurnee Women’s Club. After retirement Ruth joined the “Find a Grave” community posting more than 34,000 grave memorials under the name “ruth cook”.
Friends and family will meet for visitation on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:30AM-12:30PM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. Funeral services will begin at 12:30PM, followed by interment at Warren Cemetery.
