HERSHEY ANDREW RICHARDSON USAF (Ret.)
On November 21, 2014, MSGT Hershey Andrew Richardson USAF (Ret), died at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Tabor Richardson, one son Shawn of Houston, Texas, one daughter Renee (Wayne) Goss of Clinton, MD, three grandchildren, three sisters Delores Richardson of Baltimore, Arnella (Levi) Cook of Mitchellville, MD, Yolanda Parker of Abington, MD; two brothers Leon (Valerie) Richardson and Sukarno Richardson of Baltimore, MD.Services are as follows: Saturday, November 29, 2014, viewing at 11 a.m., services at 12 noon. Arrangements by Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22203. Cheryl and Hersey's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Hersey was also family to me. I could always depend on him to be a friend. We were friends for most of my life. A life time friend is a true blessing. That speaks for his character. I hope precious memories will ease your pain. Also the fact that Hersey really enjoyed his life and I believe did everything he ever wanted to do in life. Now he is still enjoying life - just in a different location - He's now in Halleluya Square just celebrating. May you have peace in remembering his life.

Dad, I love you. Thank you and my mother for bringing me and Renee to this world. Thank you for teaching us the real life. I am proud that you were one of 30% of hearing parents with deaf children who knew sign language. I am grateful for you to meet my friends and my woman Regina. They admired you. You were my warrior, protector, and teacher. Good to know your wife Cheryl was with you before you departed with dignity. I will cherish our memories. Take care. I will see you with God later.

In the last 2 years, I was given the blessing of knowing my uncle in a different way. He took time to talk to me and offer advise. He expressed how proud he was of me and shared words of wisdom. When I think of death, and of late the idea has come with alarming frequency, I seem at peace with the idea that a day will dawn when I will no longer be among those living in this valley of strange humors.
