Ida Antunes Obituary
Ida (Macedo) Antunes passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at Hancock Hall in Danbury. She was the wife of the late Manuel J. Antunes.
Ida was born on Nov. 20, 1927 in Portugal and came to the US when she was six years old. She was a daughter of the late Manuel Luis and Cezaltina (Fernandes) Macedo. She attended local school in Danbury.
Ida married Manuel J. Antunes in St. Peter Church, Danbury in 1947. Ida and Manuel were married for 60 years before he passed away in 2007.
Ida worked at Danbury Hat City and Barden Corporation in her early adult life. She was primarily a homemaker who loved to attend family events, picnics, holiday parties, and especially the graduations of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable garden.
Survivors include her daughters: Sandra Smith and Diana Frederick and their husbands. Her sister: Julia Font of New Fairfield. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Frederick, Laurie Canepa and Christopher Smith. Three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ida's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association – CT Chapter, Suite 4B, 200 Executive Blvd, Southington, CT 06489.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. Ida had a caring and loving spirit as few due in their hearts. She is truly amongst the angels...1 Thess 4:17 ...."so shall we ever be with the lord." For all Ida was to each of us and with the sadness of her passing, comfort is there for us...Matthew 5:4.

Sandra, Diana, Julie,
Ida was the 2nd mom to my daughter Lynn for many years. I had to work and couldn't ask for a better nanny. She was loving, thoughtful and so good to us and Lynn. She cared so much about her family and home. Ida was a wonderful lady. We were so lucky to know and love her. We are in Florida and won't be able to come to extend our feelings for her at her service. Love to all.

There is so much love among Ida's family and it will sustain you during this very sad time. One constant that never fails is the very real hope contained in Isaiah 35:1-10. My condolences to you.
