Ida Marie (Smith) Egleton, born Ida Marie Ghoram, has finally rested in the Peace of God.
She began her life journey in Stone Mountain (Chipley), Georgia, on October 5, 1935, and ended it in Binghamton, NY on February 25, 2022. Ida is predeceased by her mother Hattie F. Johnson, sisters Elizabeth Edwards, and Bernice Jenkins. She is survived by her brother Edgar Harrison, and her ten children. Keesa Bess (John), Angela Peterson, Walter Smith (Tana), Tyrone Smith (Robin), Tami Smith, Paula Edwards, Collean McKinney (Ronnie), Darlean Phillips (Willie), Taureeq Bradley (Clarence), and Omar Proctor. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, Grands, Great Grands, and Great Great Grandchildren. Ida was a lighthouse in the community. She was a foster parent in Broome County for over two decades. She was a mother of the church, and friend to many. Ida was a mother among mothers, always providing for the needs of her family. Her love will be missed by many. Her laugh will forever be in our memories. Her life will forever be celebrated by all. Services will be held at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY 13901. Viewing hour will be, 11am to 12pm, Service at 12pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
