GROVE CITY -- James Edward "Jim" Breitigam, age 71, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023. He was born October 30, 1951 in Lima, Ohio to the late Emmett and Vera (Walti) Breitigam.
He attended Perry School District and was a 1970 Wapakoneta H.S. graduate. Jim farmed on the family farm alongside his late brother, Denny, and retired in 2003. He continued his career as a machinist until retiring in 2016. He was well known for his green thumb, being an avid farmer and gardener. He loved preserving all the fruits and veggies that he grew and always had great pride in all of the flowers around the house. He also never missed a Buckeye football game and loved the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. He loved spending time in the sun with family and a cold Bud Light, whether at home or at the beach. Upon retirement and cancer diagnosis, he enjoyed spending part of the winter in Florida with his family. Jim's family was important to him and he cherished the time that they spent together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Denny; mother in law, Nettie Hudson; and sister in law, Gaylene Hudson.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Pam; daughters, Stacy McCullough and Morgan (fiance David Hickey) Breitigam; granddaughters, Paige and Emma McCullough; siblings, Pat (Larry) Horn, Dianne (Bob) Motter, Gary (Bev) Breitigam, Dan (Jean) Breitigam, and Ed (Jane) Breitigam; brothers in law, Bob (Jo) Hudson and Mark Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave., Grove City where Jim's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Feel free to wear your favorite Buckeye apparel.
