Read MoreSadly, I just learned of Janet's passing. As she was my mother's best friend (until my mother's death in 1988), I knew Janet my entire life. Although I have not seen her in quite a few years, we would talk on the phone several times a year. I will miss her; she was a very special person.

Janet and my Mom Dorothy grew up together in Shamokin and remained good friends through out the years. We were sad to hear of her passing and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Janet was such a kind, caring, giving and happy person. She called our Grandmother Mary Patry every week and stopped by many times to see her when she was visiting Shamokin. Even after our Grandmothers passing she kept in touch with our family. We are glad that she doesn't have to suffer anymore and look forward to being reunited with her again one day.

I have known Janet since I was a very little girl. We had lost contact for many years but have been back in touch for the past few years. I was just out to visit on Sunday. I will miss stopping by to visit and taking my granddaughter to visit. She really enjoyed her visits with the baby. I can only be grateful that her pain and suffering is over and that she is in a better place.
