JOHN M. WALL

John M. Wall was born on December 17, 1926, to John P. and Eva (Janzen) Wall in Harbor City, Ca. and went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2011, at the age of 84. John and his wife Joyce were married for 63 years, nearly 60 of those as Fresno residents. John's family moved frequently during his early years. Following graduation from High School, he joined the U.S. Army and was soon enrolled in the Specialized Training Program. He studied engineering at Oregon State and University of Kentucky. Following his discharge, while working at the Gas Company in downtown Los Angeles, he met and courted Joyce Rempel. They were married on June 18, 1948. John was baptized and became a member of Immanuel Mennonite Church in Los Angeles. In 1952, following the birth of their first two children, the decision was made to leave Southern California and settle in the Central Valley. After residing in Reedley for a short time, John and Joyce purchased a home on Chestnut Ave. in Fresno, where they raised their family and lived for 40 years. John began his career with Vendorlator Manufacturing Co. (later Vendo) in Pinedale and worked as an engineer and in other management capacities until his retirement following 41 years with the company. Shortly after retirement, John and Joyce moved to their current home in north Fresno. John's commitment to Christ and the Church was clearly evident. He was a member of Bethany Mennonite Brethren Church for 57 years and served in a variety of ministries, often behind the scenes. John loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Diane Suderman and her husband Mike of Clovis, Ca.; son Kenneth and his wife Ana of Folsom, Ca.; son Gary and his wife Tami of Visalia, Ca.; grandchildren, Julia Gomez and her husband Rudy, Jessica Suderman, Asher Suderman; Michael Wall, Michelle Wall; Stephanie Voth and her husband Trent, Deborah Wall, Lauren Wall, and Monica Wall; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, George Wall of Reedley, Ca. Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Clovis Cemetery, 305 N. Villa Ave. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Mennonite Brethren Church, 9161 N.
