Laurie Michelle Wade Posten died peacefully surrounded by family and friend October 21, 2025. She was born October 23, 1985, in Kansas City, the daughter of Thomas and Lynn Wade.
In 2005 she married Christopher Posten. The couple later divorced.
They had one daughter, Persephone, whom Laurie loved with all her heart.
Laurie was a passionate person, who loved Jesus, animals, little children, racecars, motorcycles and most of all her friends and family.
Laurie was always willing to offer forgiveness to and first in line to help a friend in need.
Laurie was a chef by trade. Creating a delicious meal was just one of the many ways she showed her love to others; and she made a career of that enthusiasm for cooking. She worked at Summit Lanes before spending several years cooking at Johnny's Tavern, Addington Place, and most recently the Canoe Club, Lake Lotawana. She believed in second chances - so much so that she chose to be an organ donor in death, in the hope that someone else could live on.
Laurie is survived by her daughter, Persephone Posten of the home; her mother and father, Thomas and Lynn Wade of Raymore; two brothers, Eric Wade of Raymore; and Tony Wade and wife Allison of Independence; a grandmother, Dorothy McQueen of Lee's Summit; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Coleman McQueen; and grandparents Mary Wade and MT Wade.
