Mandy Lockhart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 18, 2017.
Mandy Lynn Lockhart passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 after a fourteen year battle with kidney disease and other complications.

Mandy was born May 4, 1981 in Ravenna, Ohio to parents, Warren and Kathy Lockhart. She graduated from Rootstown High School in 1999 and attended Kent State University.

She was known for her big heart, beautiful smile, love for God and for others. Everyone who knew her was drawn to her smile and positive attitude, even with all of the obstacles she faced in her attempt to win this fight. Her favorite saying was "it is what it is". She knew God was with her all through her illness and her life became a testimony of how He works in our life.

Mandy is survived by her parents, Warren and Kathy of Rootstown, brother Evan Lockhart of Queens, NY and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many nurses and doctors at Akron General Hospital who have taken care of her over the years and a special thank you to the team at Akron East Dialysis Center who grew to know and love her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Potter Children's Home in Bowling Green, KY.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with a memorial service following at 6:00 PM.

Kathy, Warren, Evan and loved ones- know you are lifted up in prayer with so much love.
I remember Mandy always smiling, full of grace and love. Such a beautiful girl.
My heart aches for all of you... poem I read this morning.

The Day God Called You Home
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.

Warren and Kathy, I'm sorry I never had the pleasure of meeting Mandy in this life. It was easy to see what a wonderful person she was by the way Warren's eyes lit up every time he spoke of her. I've always admired the positive strength of your family. Wishing you all much comfort and peace.

Mandy had a way of touching your heart and impacting your life in such subtle ways. Her inviting smile, gorgeous hair that she had to have just so, an inner beauty that shown through the pain she lived everyday, and her catchy laugh similar to her mom. I told her she was a cheap date with only ever ordering a plain chicken sandwich and shake or a cheese quesadilla. Her presence will be dearly missed. Our hearts go out to you Warren and Kathy who have dedicated their lives to make Mandy's life here on earth a better place. May your memories of her replace the pain of her loss. She has a new body and is glorious in Heaven.
