Margaret Ann Parker, 94 years of age, of Imperial, died on October 30, 2025 at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home.
Margaret Ann was born on January 27, 1931 in Greeley, Colorado. She was the first of three children born to Arthur Gustaf and Hilda Victoria (Aronson) Stroberg. Her childhood was spent in the Greeley area other than a short stint in Long Beach, California. Peg graduated from Eaton High School in 1948 at Eaton, CO. She then attended CSCE for a year and a half.
On August 4, 1950 she married Roy Dean Parker from Benkelman, Nebraska. To this union four children were born: Linda Dianne, Daniel Dean, Margie Eileen and Sally Louise.
Family and faith were important in her life and she was a long-time member of the Imperial Church of Christ. Her hobbies included reading, painting, crocheting and sewing for family and friends, often the lucky recipients of her talents. She enjoyed being involved in the Benkelman Garden Club and Women’s Club, Ladies Auxiliary at the hospital, Extension Club and Nebraska Cattlewomen.
She and Roy Dean enjoyed their various travels before macular degeneration began claiming her vision which caused her to give up many of her activities and driving. She and Roy Dean moved from the farm in Dundy County where they had resided all their married life to Imperial, NE in fall of 2003.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dean in March of 2006, brothers Don Stroberg and Bill Stroberg, nephews Jeff Parker and Doug Stroberg, great granddaughter Carly Ann Nichols, great-nieces Kristi Parker and Rene Meeker, sisters-in-law Reta Williams and Patty Dahna and brother-in-law Jim Williams.
She is survived by her children Linda (Dave) of Holdrege, NE, Dan (Mary) of Benkelman, Marge Keiser of Lincoln, NE and Sally (Nick) Nichols of Neosho, MO; grandchildren Dustin (Mimi) Black, Katie (Tim) Nottingham, Nathaniel Parker, Joshua Parker, Beau (Jenessa) Keiser, Blake (Mary) Keiser, Bronson Keiser, Brooks (Rachel) Keiser, Matthew (Melanie) Nichols, and Jared (Andrea) Nichols; 20 great grandchildren and other family.
Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M. (MT) Wednesday, November 5 at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial, 841 Court Street.
A Funeral Service for Margaret (Peggy) Parker will be held 10:00 A.M. (MT) on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Benkelman Memorial Chapel, 205 Buffalo Street, with Stan Owens officiating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery.
