MARILYN L. HAVERT

MARILYN L. HAVERT, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Wood view Health Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Marilyn graduated from South Side High School in 1943. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a long time volunteer. She also was a nursery school teacher at Taylor Chapel. Marilyn's hobbies included painting landscapes, knitting, making crafts, writing poetry and gardening, but her passion in life was her family and grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Michael (Rochelle) Havert of North Carolina, Jon (Diane) Havert and Jeffrey Havert, both of Fort Wayne, Anne (Barry) Dunlap of Florida, and Gina (Jay) Gerbers of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald (Wanda) Dennis of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Havert and parents, Leroy and Grace Dennis. Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Michael Smith officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the funeral home.
